Maintenance of breathing apparatus – Basic training level 3

Persons that are responsible for the performance of the maintenance of breathing apparatus must comply with the statutory requirements and standards, as a result of which the safety of the user is safeguarded and the service life of the breathing apparatus is extended.

This training is intended for persons responsible for the daily maintenance on breathing apparatus and additionally must also perform repairs and periodic checks.

• Legislation and regulations
• The maintenance cycle
• Periodic maintenance schedule
• Maintenance of the breathing apparatus
• Face pieces
• Breathing apparatus
• Carrier plate and belt system
• Pressure regulator
• Breathing air quality
• Checking and filling of air cylinders
• Assembly and disassembly of cut-off valves

Practice:

• Cleaning, repair and testing of face pieces
• Cleaning, repair and testing of breathing apparatus
• Cleaning and testing of the respiratory equipment
• Disassembly and assembly of cut-off valves
• Performance of an aero test
• Performance of testing with the use of Dräger test equipment

4 days, including ½ day practical exam and ½ day theoretical exam

9:00 - 16:00

Dräger Academy, Zoetermeer.

At least “LBO” (lower vocational education) or “VMBO” (lower secondary professional education), technical background.
This training is only accessible to regional or industrial fire brigade personnel in regard to the maintenance and inspection of their own material.

We work with a limited group size in order to achieve a teaching efficiency that is as high as possible and furthermore to have a sufficient amount of personal attention for the individual participants.

The training is ended with a practical and theoretical exam. The participant will receive a certificate and a corresponding certificate card with a period of validity of 2 years provided the exam is completed with a passing grade.

The frequency for the following of a refresher course has been set to once every 2 years. The participant will be invited in a timely fashion for a refresher course.
