For technical reasons, we need to collect and store certain information when you visit our website. We use this information to technically manage our websites.

The data we collect and store when you visit our website are:
- date and duration of your visit
- the websites you have visited
- information about the browser and the type of operating system you are using
- the details of the website you visited before visiting our website (if available)

In addition, further data are collected using a log file. This is an automatic record of all selected activities on a computer system. Dräger aims to constantly improve its websites and online services. We therefore process information about our websites’ visitors and our marketing campaign participants. To do so, we use various kinds of cookies.

What are cookies?
A cookie allows a web server to store text information (e.g., a unique ID) on your computer. As a rule, cookies are used to identify you the next time you visit our websites. The cookie is either sent from the web server to the browser or is created with client-side scripting (such as JavaScript). The cookie information is stored locally on your computer and is usually valid for a limited period.

Websites with Flash media write user-specific data on your computer and read them again later. These files are called Flash cookies or Local Shared Objects (LSO). Can I use Dräger websites without cookies?
You can use our websites without cookies. Browsers usually offer a wide range of settings to control the use of cookies. You can also deactivate the storage of cookies or restrict the acceptance of cookies to certain websites. Another option would be to set your browser so that it notifies you as soon as a cookie is sent.

However, because cookies also control website content, you should expect restrictions in the display of the page or in user navigation if you deactivate this function. Linked websites may use cookies without us being able to inform you about their use first.

When you visit our website, information about its use is automatically collected. This information is important to Dräger because it is the only way for us to find out what content on our websites is interesting to you and how we can continue to improve our services for you in the future. Google Analytics stores data about the use of the website, such as:

- objects and links that have been clicked on

This user data is stored to measure the performance of our websites. To this end, Dräger has entered into a processing agreement with Google.

Google Analytics uses cookies, which are stored anonymously by masking the last octet of your IP address. This makes it impossible to draw conclusions about you as a person.

Google may also transfer this user data to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the data on Google's behalf. Dräger has no influence on this. Dräger has not allowed Google to use the analytics information obtained for any other Google services or advertising purposes.

HubSpot
For our online marketing activities, we use HubSpot, an integrated software solution that enables us to cover a wide range of aspects, including
- e-mail marketing (newsletter and automated e-mails, e.g. to provide downloads)
- reporting and publishing of social media
- reporting via the website (e.g. traffic sources, access)
- contact management (e.g. user segmentation and customer relationship management)
- start pages, blogs and contact forms

As a visitor to our website, you can use our contact forms to obtain information about our company, download content and share your contact and demographic data with us. This information and the content of our website are stored on servers of our software partner HubSpot. We use this information to contact you. Cookies also allow us to find out which of our services may be of interest to you. For this purpose, we store information about your interaction with our website, such as the documents you download, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit ("user data"), as well as whether and when you have opened Dräger marketing emails.

How can I object to the collection of this data?
Although you may withdraw your consent at any time, you may also technically exclude the collection of your user data by adjusting your browser's cookie settings and deleting the relevant cookies.

We collect and process data only for predetermined purposes, which may be the result of technical necessity, contractual stipulations or explicit user requests. In addition, we will only use your data if you have given us your prior consent to do so. Some of our online services, such as our My Academy and DMO Certified Portal, are only available to registered users who are logged in as such. This registration is used to manage your access and use of the relevant functions. We request personal information that is collected and stored when you log in as part of the relevant online service.

The following paragraph applies to the processing of your data as a result of your application.

What are personal data?
Personal data is information that can be traced back to one person. Examples of personal data are: a name, a home address, a personal e-mail address or a citizen service number (BSN).

We do not store your data longer than strictly necessary.
We keep this information for a period of one year. If the retention period of your data expires soon and you are still in the middle of an application for a vacancy with Dräger, the period will be extended until your application process has been completed.

Your personal data will not be passed on to other parties.
We do not offer you any unsolicited information and/or services. We do not make your personal data available to third parties, unless we are required to do so by law, or unless the site is used to commit criminal offences or make criminal statements.

What rights do you have?
As a data subject, you have the right to inspect, rectify, destroy and be forgotten. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal data.

Accessibility of applicant data
Did you apply for a specific position (direct application)? Then the department with the vacancy and the HR department in question will have access to your data.

Safety in the handling of personal data
With Dräger, all data is protected both during transmission and storage. The latest security/encryption technologies are always used.

Have you used one of our contact forms to request information about Dräger products and services? In general, we use the information you provide in the form to process your request. Customer satisfaction surveys
Have you recently bought a Dräger product or had it repaired? We would like to know if you were satisfied with the service we provide and if we can do something else in the future. To do this, we use the contact information shared within this framework to contact a randomly selected group of customers after our interaction. In order to contact customers, Dräger sometimes uses external service providers with whom corresponding data protection agreements have been concluded.

We strive to continue to improve our website for you. To do this, we use different types of web analytics tools that provide us with answers to specific questions, such as Which of our pages did you visit, and which links did you click on? Our legitimate interest is derived from the following data collection purposes: ensuring a trouble-free connection and easy use of our website and/or application, and the analysis of system security and stability.

Dräger reserves the right to share the data you transmit to us with our subsidiaries and specialist retailers (dealers) throughout the world. However, we share it only if doing so is necessary to process your data for its intended purpose.

Dräger sometimes uses external service providers for the technical processing of your data. We may transmit and process your data outside the country in which you reside or in one of the countries in which Dräger, its subsidiaries, specialist retailers (dealers), or service providers and suppliers operate. Such entities may be based outside the European Economic Area. Contractual obligations to comply with the provisions under data protection law are in place within the company and in our dealings with our specialist retailers (dealers), service providers, and suppliers.

Dräger stores the personal data you transmit to us only for as long as they are needed (i.e., to fulfill the purposes for which you have transmitted this data to us, however we will delete it sooner if we are required to do so by law or you request that we delete your data). We will block any data you ask us to delete if we are required by law to retain.

Facebook
We want our websites to be attractive and easy for you to use. Some of our websites may therefore contain social plug-ins from the social network facebook.com. This network is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”).

Facebook’s social plug-ins are identified by:
• the Facebook logo (white “f” on a blue background or a thumbs-up icon)
• the word “Like”
or
• the words “Facebook Social Plug-In”

When you visit a website that includes this social media plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with Facebook’s servers. The content of the social plug-in is then transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the website. In this case, Facebook obtains your IP address and other device-related information. The information that you have visited our website is also sent to Facebook. Facebook may then also save a cookie on your computer, which is deleted when the browser is closed (see the above section on cookies). Dräger has no control over the scope of the data collected by Facebook using the social plug-in.

As far as we are aware, Facebook can link your visit to our web pages with your personal user account on Facebook, but only if you are logged in to Facebook while visiting our website. By interacting with social plug-ins—for example, by clicking the “Like” button or submitting a comment—the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. This data transfer can be prevented only if you log out of your Facebook account before visiting our website. Even if you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible that Facebook may identify and store your IP address. It is also possible to block Facebook social plug-ins by using add-ons for your browser, such as the “Facebook Blocker” add-on.

LinkedIn
In addition, plug-ins from the LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as “LinkedIn”), are embedded in our websites. These plug-ins are identified by the LinkedIn logo.

When you visit one of our websites, the plug-in creates a direct connection between your browser and the LinkedIn server, informing LinkedIn that you have visited our website with your IP address.

YouTube
On our websites, you will also find embedded plug-ins from YouTube, which is owned by Google Inc., 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. As soon as you visit a Dräger website with a YouTube plug-in, your browser establishes a connection to the YouTube servers. The YouTube server is then informed about which of our websites you have visited. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your surfing behavior directly with your personal profile. This does not happen if you have already logged out of your YouTube account.
